Music Ministry

Join together in song, under the talented direction of our choir director, Rosemary Madden. Adult Choir rehearsals on Thursdays at 7:15-8:45PM.  Youth Choir rehearsals on Tuesdays 5:30-6:30PM.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

First Friday of the month from 8:00AM-9:00AM. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.  finance council members

Food Baskets

Non perishable foods are collected at the back of the church every Sunday of the month and donated to charity.  Extra donations are sought duriing the holiday seasons.

Hospitality

A group that serves coffee and pastry on Sunday mornings after the 10:30AM Mass. They also help prepare for special occasions. A great way to get to know one another is when we share food and conversation.

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week.

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.  parish council members

Protecting God’s Children

All of the clergy, office staff, and every volunteer is required to attend a Virtus—Protecting God’s Children training session, an archdiocese sponsored program which teaches an awareness of those persons and situations which could endanger our children. The state also requires volunteers to submit a yearly CORI form.

Senior Altar Server

Men and women who assist at daily Mass or Funeral masses to enhance the worship of our faith community.

 

 

Men's Prayer Group

All men are welcome! Meetings are held the last Saturday of the month 8:30AM-0:00AM following the 8AM Mass. Join us for coffee, a light breakfast, socialization, and engaging (no pressure) conversation about our faith in a relaxed environment. Altar Server

Boys and girls from grade 3 and above who assist the priest at the liturgy.

Baptism Preparation

Preparing parents for the formation of their child’s faith.  Baptism infomation

Extraordinary Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

Flowers and Grounds

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.

Greeters

Parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

Lector

Reader who proclaims the Scriptures at Mass and other services.

Liturgical Linen Service

Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.

Outreach to Homebound

Volunteer Extraordinary Ministers who bring the Eucharist to registered parishioners who are homebound.

Parish Crafters

Group of parish members who sew the baptismal cloths.  They meet Thursday mornings in the parish hall.

RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments.  see more

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Stations of the Cross

Held Friday evenings at 6:30PM in during Lent followed by soup and sharing in the parish hall.

Adult Faith Formation

Come join Father Hennessey as he leads in-depth discussions on various topics.  Meetings are on Wednesday evenings in the parish hall.  The next series will focus on the Eucharist.  Dates can be found in the bulletin.
