Welcome to Our Parish

Due to the fact that Marshfield has now entered the red zone for COVID-19, we must follow state guidelines and implement contact tracing for parishioners attending Mass.  There will be someone at the church doors each Mass taking your contact information in the event that another parishioner indicates they were not feeling well at Mass.  To help speed up the process, you can click here to access Sign-up genius and input your contact information prior to attending Mass.

Thank you for your cooperation.

We are not yet able to accommodate everyone in the pews with social distancing guidelines.  Our thought initially was to utilize the parish hall for a secondary Mass for overflow traffic.  We now find that the summer will change our ability to do that with vacation times and not always having two priests available for Mass.

Beginning this weekend, June 27 and 28, we are changing our Mass schedule as follows:

Saturday:  4:30P

Sunday:  7:30A, 9:00A, 10:30A and 5:30P

Please note the time change of the 8:00A Mass and the addition of a new 9:00A Mass.  We hope that this will enable everyone to find a seat in the church until we are all able to worship together again.  For those who are still uncomfortable entering the building, we will be broadcasting the Saturday 4:30PM and Sunday 10:30AM Masses on FM 96.7 from our parking lot.  Tune into the 96.7FM to listen to Mass from the comfort of your car.  At the time of Communion, go to either the side door by the stairs to the parish hall or the front door to receive Communion.  Please remember to wear your mask.  This schedule will remain in effect during the pandemic until further notice.

In order to ensure everyone's safety, we need to continue to ensure each of us follows the protocols listed below established by the Governor and the Cardinal.  The Archdiocese has put together a video that can be viewed at the following link:  https://youtu.be/vLkFzkV9UjM .  The video will help explain the reception of the Body of Christ.

Mass Attendance

  • Seating in the church will be limited based upon building capacity and social distancing requirement.
  • Overflow seating will be available in the parish hall.
  • Designated entry through the front door.
  • We ask all parishioners to take their temperature 1 hour before attending public Mass.
  • Mass will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/OLA-Marshfield.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at each Mass but we encourage you to bring a small bottle from home.
  • No gatherings before or after Mass.
  • Please remember that the Cardinal has extended the dispensation from attending Mass until further notice if you are uncomfortable attending public Mass.

  • The faithful are obliged to wear protective face covering in church.
  • All parishioners must wear a mask with the exception of those under 2 and people with compromised health issues while wearing a mask. For children between the ages of 2 and 5, wearing a mask is at the discretion of their parents.
  • Please bring your masks from home.
  • There is no admittance without a mask.

During Mass

  • Families will sit at least 6 feet away from other families to ensure social distancing.
  • Please sit at least 4 feet from the aisle at the end of the pew to allow social distancing during communion.
  • Hymnals, missalettes, and bulletins have been removed.
  • You may bring your own missal or other worship aid.
  • Procession of the gifts has been suspended until further notice.
  • There will be no singing.

  • Full instruction will be given at the beginning of Mass to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed.
  • Form a single line as you approach the sanctuary and maintain a distance of 6 feet from the person in front of you.
  • Follow the markers on the floor.
  • Reception of the host will be in your hand as opposed to your tongue.
  • After receiving the host, step forward to the next marker to lift your mask and consume the host.

After Mass

  • After the final blessing, pews will be dismissed one at a time so we do not compromise social distancing protocols.
  • Please exit the church and go directly to your cars.  Unfortunately this is not a time for us to congregate with our fellow parishioners.
  • Collection baskets will be at the church exits for offertory contributions.  Please consider online giving whether or not you plan on attending Mass in person.  It is the safest, cleanest, and most efficient way to support OLA!  You can use the following link and then create a new account:  https://www.osvonlinegiving.com/4286

We are happy that we are able to once again celebrate our Masses together.  We all have some adjusting to do in order to come together safely.  Together we can do this to make our community worship a meaningful experience despite these changes.  Just remember – Jesus knows who’s behind the masks!!
