The Collaborative's annual Christmas Pageant was held at St. Ann by the Sea on Friday, December 20th. We would like to thank the many families who came to watch the more than 20 children enact the birth of Our Lord and Savior. There were many angels, wise men, animals - including a flamingo and duck and shepherds! We also would like to thank Regina McGrath and her family for providing the beautiful music. A special thank you to Elisabeth Hubbard who coordinated our event.
Sold out!
The Adult Craft Night held on Friday, November 15th was sold out. Over 30 people attended the event to make beautiful sea glass Christmas Trees and nosh on wonderful food. A big shout out to Boofa's for the beautiful charcuterie board they created with the help of other businesses in the community. Boofa's donated a charcuterie board as part of the prize raffle for the OLA 75th Anniversary raffle prizes. Sue Galvin generously donated her winnings (actually her husband's winnings - thank you Bob!) to the craft night!
An early Halloween was celebrated on Sunday, October 20th at St. Ann by the Sea with another perfect day delivered by God! Several families decorated their cars and gave out candy to the many trick or treaters who attended the festivities. We saw some great costumes and cleverly decorated cars!
All enjoyed some pizza, donuts, and veggies while decorating their pumpkins and getting a tour of the police car. Thank you Marshfield Police for helping to make this a great event!
Thank you to all the families who attended another of the OLA's 75th Anniversary celebrations.
We can't wait to see the fun continue with the 80th Anniversary celebrations for St. Ann!
On Friday, September 13th, several parishioners from The Collaborative of St. Ann by the Sea and Our Lady of the Assumption boarded the Pilgrim Belle in Plymouth Harbor for an evening of fun and laughter. Weather could not have been more spectacular for a September evening. The cruise was another event celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Our Lady of the Assumption.
We thank all who attended this event making the evening so much fun. We also are grateful for Crest Catering for the delicious food!
Our Lady of the Assumption celebrated 75 years as a parish on Sunday, August 18th at the 10:30a Mass. The Mass was celebrated by Cardinal Sean O'Malley and concelebrated by our Pastor, Father Aveni, our Parochial Vicar, Father Will Sexton and many former priests of Our Lady of the Assumption. What a beautiful celebration of the Eucharist!
The reception following the Mass was well attended by parishioners of both St. Ann by the Sea and Our Lady of the Assumption.
It is wonderful to see our parishes coming together as a collaborative!
Our Lady of the Assumption kicked off the 75th Anniversary celebration with a Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 27th. The event was held at the Governor Winslow School. Families enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream as well as games and crafts. Our younger family members enjoyed the jumpy house!
It was great to see so many families from our collaborative parishes!!
Kudos to our Living Stations of the Cross actors and actresses - Finn Foley, Lucian Hughes, Allan Archibald, Chase Ferris, Aidan Palombo, Isabel Archibald, Emily Gunnarson - and our narrator, Taylor Twomey. What a wonderful, moving performance they gave of the Passion of Jesus. A BIG thank you to Jane Clougherty for directing the students. Thank you to our musicians Gale McCarthy and Claudette Berrio. We also want to thank Fr. Paul Aveni, Fr Will Sexton, Maureen Bradley, Bob Counihan and Rosemary Haviland for their support. A special thank you to our audience for coming out to support the students.
Despite the rain, what a beautiful day Sunday, April 23rd was! Twenty-seven Confirmandi were sealed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit at the Confirmation Mass presided by Father Mark. May the Spirit guide them as they grow in their faith and trust in His plan. God bless the Confirmation Class of 2023!
The Confirmation Class of Our Lady of the Assumption collected items and cash donations at Roche Bros., The Dollar Tree and Brant Rock Market on September 24th. Today they made up kindness bundles with needed items, goodies, DD gift cards and a note from the kids. They also filled many backpacks with the same great stuff. With the generosity of those who donated, we were also able to purchase blankets, sweatshirts, and tarps. This was a group service project for a good cause. Great job kids!! Also a big thank you to Mary Counihan for her leadership in this project.
Several parishioners came to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption and enjoyed good food, activities and a cookie decorating contest!
Middle School Students in grades 6-8 came together for the week of June 27 through July 1 for their Faith Formation summer session. Under the direction of Father Mark and assisted by Beth Sombronsky, students attended daily Mass and learned about their faith. They ended their week with a water balloon fight. No clear winners but lots of fun!
May God bless our 31 First Commuion students who received the Eucharist for the first time at our 10:30am Masses on either Sunday, May 15 or May 22nd. Welcome to the Table!
